On to the good stuff! I’d like to take a moment today and recognize the great contributor Fred Rogers. How is Fred Rogers? Only one of the great featured artists of the Red Raven Art Company in Downtown Lancaster. We had Fred to thank for the amazing artwork from last year’s festival and this year as well with the hopes for many years to come.
Before I share the beans, close your eyes. Imagine you are on a desert island. You are surrounded by the ocean, warm sands and crashing waves. As the sun dances on your face, you see fun, creative images setting as scene for your imagination. This is how I see Fred Rogers’ work. After having read his bio that I will turn you on to in a second, as much as I would have loved to learn biology from him as a teacher, I’d rather sit with him over some tea and see how his mind works.
Thanks Fred, this year’s poster is amazing and we are so thankful to have your creative spark!

Onwards and upwards! So in addition the the music flowing through 8 venues and ten stages starting on Friday, February 6th, 2014, we also have the honor of joining the many artists who will be displaying their works of art for the monthly event: First Friday.
Insert personal note here: So when the possibility of coming back to Pennsylvania became a reality, my nearest and dearest all said… “Lancaster has changed so much, you won’t recognize it.” “Wait until you go to First Friday.” “First Friday…” “First Friday”... Goodness gracious, what was all the hype about?! Leaving seven years ago, Pennsylvania felt allergic to creativity. Upon coming back there is a surge of electricity bubbling from the minds of today’s artists. Instead of hiding behind the aged brick walls, people of all ages are stemming to the surface with their artwork, their music, their thoughts and ideas. It’s inspiring. From town to town, county to county, people and businesses are opening their arms and doors to a new age. From hosting listening rooms, art galleries, poetry slams and more. I couldn’t be prouder to say that Lancaster is on it’s way up. Thank you and to top it off, we get to join forces with First Friday and bring you Roots and Blues.
What more could you ask for in a Friday night, let alone a weekend? I don’t know but I’m excited! Now all I have to figure out is how many VIP tickets I need lol. Who doesn’t love swag bags, open bar and food from Accamac! Bam, I think I win Santa of the Year.
So in today’s conclusion, thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the Red Raven Art Company in downtown Lancaster to check out work by Fred Rogers and many other talented artists who have their work on display.
