We are back in action in the production office fine tuning the details for the upcoming festival. I have to keep reminding myself that 58 days are going to fly by the blink of an eye. There’s no time for the laid back California attitude of getting back to you in a week over drinks on the golf course. This is the East Coast and everything should have been done two hours ago!
If any of you have worked in the event world, you know how many moving parts there are to an event. You have the staff, the acts, the venue, catering, ticketing, lighting, sound, etc. And on top of all of that, we’re not just dealing with one event at one venue. 75 acts over two days in eight venues and ten stages with a small production team of 5. As much works as it is, there is nothing like the excitement of watching people enjoy a production you have had a hand in creating. It is my pleasure and I look forward to each day leading up the madness!
So let’s take a look at the two opening acts on Friday February 6th.
Grand Ole' Ditch: Furthest top left pic:
Grand Ole’ Ditch will be kicking off the Festival at the Trust Performing Arts Center at 5:45PM. Their 5 piece band will be taking to the stage for the hour. If you can get out of work in time, make sure to try and get a kick start on the weekend!
Check out their bio and a you tube sneak peak into their music at:
If you haven’t been to the Trust Performing arts Center (Center photo) and you are bored at work, take a look at their website. This will be a new venue for me and I’m excited to give it a go!
Next up on the agenda is the amazing Nikki Hill (2nd to the left pic) at the Steinman Hall at the Ware Center at 5:50PM.
Nikki is an up and coming in the scene, but not one to be missed! Check out her featured artist page at : http://lancasterrootsandblues.com/featured-artists/nikki-hill/
Steinman Hall is located on the first floor of the Ware Center and it is beautiful! Ample seating and the acoustics will allow you to take in even a pin dropping on stage. This show is true to be a treat.
As Usual, thank you for sharing some of your time with me today and keep checking back this week for more featured artists and venues.
Check out the updated schedule below and don’t forget to buy those early stocking stuffers this year!
